Last month, my wife accidentally dropped her iPhone 4 on a brick road. Since it landed on a raised brick, it totally shattered the front glass. Rather than buy a new screen for it and fix it myself, we opted to order the new iPhone 4S for her. Unfortunately, as anyone who has tried to buy one will tell you, they were on back order for about 2 weeks. Even though the phone technically still worked (despite the shattered glass front), I didn’t want my wife to use it and possibly cut herself or something.

So, I thought I’d simply put the SIM card from her phone into an old iPhone 3G that we had laying around. That was when I remembered that Apple changed their SIM card format to a physically smaller chip with the introduction of the iPhone 4. >:(

Well, that wasn’t going to stop me. Without even knowing if I would work, I proceeded to make an “adapter” for the SIM card… and this was how I got it to work!

Mind you, this could have been a lucky fluke, so it may not work with all devices… I also doubt that it would work from one provider to another. I’m just happy that this Frankenstein SIM-hack worked! LOL

Cheers!
