Just installed the Beta of Windows 7 that I downloaded from MSDN (no shady downloads for me!) on my MacBook Pro…. and it runs much better than the version I have on my IBM ThinkPad with XP Pro.
Granted, I used Microsoft Virtual PC on the IBM and VMware Fusion on my MBP, but it was light years faster and more “stable” on the Mac.
When I tried to install the “VM Tools” on the Windows laptop, Windows 7 spouted the lovely BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH error and proceeded to restore itself to the previous version. Seems that Microsoft has a bit of a graphics driver problem… presumably…. that VMware doesn’t seem to have.
I still find it funny that I can run a virtual instance of Windows on my Mac and have it be faster than one on its own hardware.
