So you may wonder “wtf, mate?” with the title, but it’s true… I’ve decided to sell off my musical instruments and consolidate down to what I think my essentials will be.
Music has been my passion throughout my life….have played various types of music since starting out with the violin in 1985/86, music IS my soul… my escape from the “every day”.
Unfortunately, an accident and subsequent surgery to my hand around 1996 ruined any chances of me going pro… so I just played at home. Over all those years, and thousands of dollars in credit card fees, I have accumulated more instruments than I could ever need.
Without going into too much detail, I have a set of bagpipes, 7 guitars (electric & acoustic…6 & 12 strings), 2 Electric Basses, a Korg keyboard, 12 channel Mackie mixer, various effects pedals and rack modules, numerous microphones, oh…and a wooden flute.
….in others words, way too much. Today, I decided to buy my “last” guitar.
I bought a Taylor 6-string acoustic, with a Dreadnought body design. Here’s a link to a pic I took:
Lucky for me, the store was having a special… and I ended up getting a FREE microphone too!
So now that I have the Taylor, I’m going to be selling almost all of my equipment. I just plan to keep the keyboard, 3 guitars (including the new Taylor), 2 mics, and 2 rack modules. I might keep my 5-string Bass, but may end up giving it to my Father-in-Law since he plays with local bands.
I’ll probably end up “geeking out” and creating a web-store to sell my gear from. So if you are interested or know someone who may be interested, stay tuned for the info!
Cheers!
